10. 12 Years a Slave (2013)
IMDb Summary: In the antebellum United States, Solomon Northup, a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery.
This movie that won the Academy Award for Best Movie in 2018 is amazing and you will love to hate Michael Fassbender in it. He plays such a loathsome individual, that there will be moments when you forget how handsome and nice the actor himself really is. And that is some fine acting!
9. Inglourious Basterds (2009)
IMDb Summary: In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a plan to assassinate Nazi leaders by a group of Jewish U.S. soldiers coincides with a theatre owner’s vengeful plans for the same.
Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds is a great movie, where Michael Fassbender comes out a winner (SPOILER ALERT: even though he dies mid-movie). His wonderful British accent will leave you wanting more and if you haven’t already seen it, his lines alone will be worth your effort.
8. X-Men: First Class (2011)
IMDb Summary: In 1962, the United States government enlists the help of Mutants with superhuman abilities to stop a malicious dictator who is determined to start world war III.
Even if you’re not an X-Men fan, you’ll quite enjoy this movie, we assure you. It’s to the point and the fact that it presents the beginning of the X-Men team will make things quite easy for people who aren’t elbow-deep in comic books about mutants.
7. Jane Eyre (2011)
IMDb Summary: A mousy governess who softens the heart of her employer soon discovers that he’s hiding a terrible secret.
The millionth Jane Eyre adaptation, the 2011 version is great because it’s got Michael Fassbender in it. That simple! He’s playing the male lead, Rochester, the troubled man who falls for Jane, the governess. He’s rough and aloof; handsome and wise – he really does make an amazing Rochester!
6. 300 (2006)
IMDb Summary: King Leonidas and a force of 300 men fight the Persians at Thermopylae in 480 B.C.
Directed by Zack Snyder, this movie was based on a comic book and it looks very impressive. All the men in it have amazing bodies and a long-haired Michael Fassbender is one of the loveliest sights you’ve ever seen in your life.
5. Prometheus (2012)
IMDb Summary: A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
In Prometheus, Michael Fassbender plays David, a humanoid robot. He’s a freaky, complex individual and the movie’s not bad either. And just a couple of days ago, Michael Fassbender announced he’d be starring in the sequel! Great news for all of the David fans, out there!
4. Hunger (2008)
IMDb Summary: Irish republican Bobby Sands leads the inmates of a Northern Irish prison in a hunger strike.
Out of all Michael Fassbender movies, he’s the most unrecognizable in this one. He had to lose a lot of weight for it and his acting has left many critics speechless. If you’re not squeamish about human feces and violence, we strongly recommend you see this movie.
3. Shame (2011)
IMDb Summary: In New York City, Brandon’s carefully cultivated private life — which allows him to indulge his sexual addiction — is disrupted when his sister arrives unannounced for an indefinite stay.
Shame is so much more than just a movie and in it, Michael Fassbender is so much more than an actor. Many say he should have gotten an Oscar for his performance. We believe that too, but for now, we’re just happy he got to star naked in it!
2. A Dangerous Method (2011)
IMDb Summary: A look at how the intense relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud gives birth to psychoanalysis.
Directed by David Cronenberg, A Dangerous Method presents us Michael Fassbender as Carl Jung. Viggo Mortensen and Michael make not only a pretty team, but they also manage to portray the characters amazingly.
1. Fish Tank (2009)
IMDb Summary: Everything changes for 15-year-old Mia when her mum brings home a new boyfriend.
This is by far, Michael Fassbender’s most underrated movie. He gave the performance of a lifetime in it. A complex film about human relationships, Fish Tank should be on everyone’s watchlist, Michael Fassbender fans or not.
