If your idea of a perfect weekend involves ordering Chinese and sipping wine while binging on the latest TV series, you’ll welcome this 10 Netflix shows you can watch in a weekend. Netflix’s hits “House of Cards” and “Orange is the new black” are not the only good shows they came up with. What’s great about their TV series is that you don’t have to wait for each episode to come out and you can just gorge on 13 episodes at once. Sure, that can sound as a waste of time, but it’s still a way to spend your weekend.
1. Sense 8
Sense8 is a science fiction show in which 8 strangers from various corners of the world suddenly find themselves connected mentally and emotionally. While this leaves them baffled, not knowing how to use their new abilities, more surprises are on their way. They have a secret protector, Jonas, whose aim is to keep them safe from Whispers. This is the bad guy who has the same abilities as the strangers and wants to hunt down the Sensates.
2. Black Mirror
This British TV show is a dark sci fi with black humor and twisted plots. Each episode has a self contained story, a different cast and illustrates various realities. While the total 7 episodes from the 3 seasons can seem unrelated to each other, they have a common factor. They emphasize the impact of technology and offer us a glimpse into what our lives can look like in 10 years.
3. Marvel’s Daredevil
Also known as simply “Daredevil” this show is dedicated to the Marvel character with the same name. It stars Matt Murdock who is a lawyer by day and fights villains by night, played by Charlie Cox. Cox had to spend a lot of time in the gym to achieve the muscular look of his character and he even had a blind consultant to offer valuable advice.
4. Grace and Frankie
This one of a kind funny TV show is a breath of fresh air in the comedy department. It’s about two elderly husbands who inform their wives that they are in love with each other and they are leaving them to go and live their love story. Abandoned, Grace and Frankie are left living together and having to take care of each other.
5. The Fall
Starring talented Gillian Anderson and Jaimie Dornan, this intense crime drama show revolves around a police investigation on a series of murders that take place in Belfast, Ireland. With a cliff hanger season 2 ending, fans are eagerly waiting the following episodes after the March 2015 announcement that “The Fall” will continue shooting for a third season.
6. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Kimmy Schmidt has a reason to act awkwardly in New York City: she’s adjusting to a new life after she has lived 15 years in a bunker, where she was held against her will together with other three women by reverend Wayne. The 29 year old’s positive attitude seems undaunted. She is determined to make the best of her life and refuses to act the role of a victim.
7. Bojack Horseman
With some making comparisons between “Arrested Development” and “Bojack Horseman”, it’s safe to say this TV show has a particular type of humor who will not suit all tastes. Played by Will Arnet, the hero of the series is a talking horse who is depressed. As an ex super star, he keeps rewatching his popular 9 season TV show “Horsing around” that made him famous, rich and ultimately miserable.
8. Chef’s Table
Even though you might not be that much into cooking, this documentary TV show will surely leave your mouth watering. Each beautiful episode focuses on a different chef from a different country of the world, telling stories of culinary art and incredible tasty dishes. Be warned, mediocre snacks during this show will leave you drooling for foie gras or beef tartare.
9. Skins
Yes, this is a 7 season TV series, but only the first 2 seasons got our seal of approval. If you want to pick up on some British slang and learn what “bog roll” means, you should go ahead and watch the adventures of a group of English teens as they get drunk, throw monstrous parties, make and break friendships and only occasionally go to school.
10. The Honourable Woman
This British miniseries stars Maggie Gyllenhaal as Nessa Stein, who is a businesswoman in charge of the Stein Group. The surprising and questionable suicide of her partner forces her to postpone a project she had been working on for a long time. When the son of a close friend is kidnapped, Nessa starts to be tormented by old memories and secrets.
