10 Tips for Lowering High Blood Pressure

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to lower your blood pressure naturally? Well, you can do that – if do have high blood pressure then you must be already on some type of medication that your doctor prescribed. That’s good that you’re doing something about it. What we are proposing are tips that will lower blood pressure naturally and will improve your life. Wouldn’t it be nice to get off the meds and be healthy again? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to just take care of yourself and have everything be in order? If you follow our tips, you might get there in time, but be patient, these things take time and besides, it’s not good for the heart to rush things.

10. Eat Healthy Foods

 

We cannot stress enough the importance of vegetables and fruits in our daily diet. It’s what we were supposed to be eating, not processes foods and grease-laden stuff. If you want to lower your blood pressure naturally this is where you start. Why take medicine when so many cases of high blood pressure can be fixed by simply adjusting the diet?

Yes, losing weight can be fun, and very rewarding – think about how great you’ll feel (and look) after you’ve reached your goal weight.

Cardio exercises do wonders for the heart. In just one month of running at least three times a week, your heart rate will improve and it will start to show in your blood pressure also. Besides, working out will make you feel better about yourself, it will raise your spirits and give you a confidence boost like no other thing will.

7. Don’t Push Yourself

 

Take it easy! If you can’t take it easy, at least try. Don’t let small things get to you and do not set goals for yourself that you know you can’t achieve, just in order to motivate and push yourself. You are most likely the person who is causing your own stress and discomfort and you should stop that.

We consume the most sodium in the form of salt and we get it from processed foods and even restaurant foods. It’s needless to say that too much of it is bad for your health because it does increase your blood pressure and the risk of having a heart attack and stroke. And these two are the first and second killers in the USA.

5. Ease Up on the Alcohol

 

In very small amounts, alcohol could lower your blood pressure, but the amount needed for each person differs so much, that it is hard to pinpoint how much one would need. If you are a drinker, then try to reduce your alcohol intake by tracking your drinking patters or avoid binging as much as possible. Alcohol will do more harm than good!

4. Get Checked Regularly

 

If you and doctors don’t really mix, you could buy a blood pressure monitor so that you can measure your own blood pressure and your family’s right there in the comfort of your own home. Choose to measure it in the morning, a half an hour after you’ve woken up – it is the best time! And if you do observe something out of the ordinary, then do tell your doctor.

3. Reduce Your Stress

 

It can be hard to identify what causes stress in our lives and unless we know what it is, we can’t do anything about it, right? Wrong! Did you know that having sex will lower your blood pressure? There have been studies made and those who have sex regularly perform much better under stressful situations. If you need an incentive, try some sex toys that will bring back the spark in the bedroom.

2. Cut Back On Caffeine

 

Caffeine will cause your blood pressure to rise but it seems that its effects in the long run are somewhat unknown. Still, don’t take any chances and cut back on coffee and all the products that contain caffeine, such as Coca Cola, Pepsi or Red Bull. It’s an additional stress on your body that you frankly do not need.

1. Quit Smoking

 

Do we even need to tell you to quit smoking? If you’re a smoker, you’ve probably been said these two words so many times that you’re not even hearing them anymore. Listen to us carefully: quit smoking! Your heart function and blood pressure will improve a great deal in a short amount of time after you’ve quit the cancer sticks.
