We all have a little singer deep within ourselves just dying to get out and have his/her say. That’s why The Voice contest is everyone’s guilty pleasure, as a matter of fact. For we the living, karaoke is probably the only chance we get when it comes to singing our soul out. But these guys who take part in this competition have their 15 minutes of fame and it’s a blast! Well since we are all secret fans of the show, let’s take a look at The Voice top 10 finalists ever and what they have been up to lately.
A seventh season of The Voice premiered on September 22, 2014.
1. Josh Kaufman
He’s undoubtedly the freshest one of them all, as he won the last season. About 5 months ago, blue-eyed soulman Josh Kaufman was crowned the winner of The Voice Season 6, and he hasn’t had a chance to rest since. On May 20, 2014, Kaufman was announced as the winner of Season 6, beating out runners-up Jake Worthington and Christina Grimmie and making him not only the first artist from Team Usher to win, but the first “stolen” artist to win and the first Caucasian male winner, besides also being the oldest participant to win the competition.
Almost immediately after the finale, he was whisked away to rehearsals for the Voice Tour, which featured him and his fellow Season 6 castmates Josh Worthington, Christina Grimmie, Kristen Merlin, and Jake Barker, along with the top three from Season 5 and Season 1’s runner-up, Dia Frampton.
2. Tessanne Chin
She was the winner of Season 5 as part of Adam Levine’s team. Among her incredible achievements I’m mentioning the following: on December 10, 2013, her performance of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic Bridge over Troubled Water for the Semifinal Round became #1 on the iTunes chart, with her becoming the first (and ultimately the only) contestant to achieve the top chart position at the end of an applicable voting window that season. During the Finale Results show, she was revealed to be the winner of Season 5 with Jacquie Lee as runner-up and Will Champlin in third place. After her victory was announced, she debuted her first U.S. single Tumbling Down, written by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.
3. Danielle Bradbery
She won the 4th season of the show, becoming the youngest contestant to come in first place. She was born on July 23, 1996. At the finals, Bradbery sang the song Timber, I’m Falling In Love along with her coach Blake Shelton, she also re-sang the song Maybe It Was Memphis, which would this time reach the iTunes top 10 charts and sang the song Born to Fly then she was announced as the winner of season four of The Voice. She had the most peak positions and most singles to reach the top 10 on iTunes during the season. Overall, she had more iTunes downloads than any other contestant in the show’s history.
4. Cassadee Pope
She took part in the third season of the show and was crowned the winner on December 18, 2012. She became the first female winner of The Voice. Her debut solo country album, Frame by Frame, was released on October 8, 2013. The album debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top Country Albums charts, and was preceded by Top 10 country single, Wasting All These Tears.
5. Jermaine Paul
He was the winner of the second season of The Voice. Prior to his The Voice stint, he was co-nominated at the 48th Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, in a collaborative work with Alicia Keys as the featured artist. Rumour has it that when Paul won, the executives for the show, were doing their best to hide the fact that they were totally upset that he came out as the winner. The season two finale of The Voice was reportedly a big let down for executives of the show because they wanted Tony Lucca or Juliet Simms to win instead.
6. Juliet Simms
She was the runner-up on the second season of the American reality talent show The Voice. Shortly after finishing The Voice, Simms was signed by Cee Lo Green, her coach on the show. Her debut single “Wild Child” was released on December 11, 2012, followed by a music video in April 2013, for which Green is an executive producer. An album was scheduled for release in 2013,but ultimately was not released after she was dropped.
7. Javier Colon
In 2011, he was the winner of the inaugural season of the U.S. television show on NBC, The Voice, receiving $100,000 and signing a recording contract with Universal Republic Records. Javier Colon eventually decided to part ways with Universal Republic.
8. Dia Frampton
She was the runner-up in the first season of The Voice and is currently the lead singer in her band, Archis.
9. The Sworn Brothers
Remember them? In 2013, they finished in third place on the fourth season of NBC’s show. They were the first duo to make it from the Top 12 live shows to the season finale. On November 1, 2013, the Swon Brothers signed a record deal with Arista, which is part of the Sony group. They released their first official single, Later On, the following month.
10. Jacquie Lee
She is best known for being the runner-up of Season 5. After the show, Lee was signed to Lyor Cohen’s Label, 300 Entertainment, in partnership with Atlantic Records. She performed her debut single, Broken Ones, on the Top 5 Results of season 6 of The Voice on May 13, 2014.The song was released to iTunes the same day.
