Actors on the Rise

Being constantly on the hunt for fresh faces, Hollywood “grows” young actors in the hope that they will become the next stars in the same “pot” with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie or Sandra Bullock  Here are 12 actors on the rise that might just make it into the big league.

Which of these actors do you think will become a big name in the world of cinema?

Actors on the Rise

1. Theo James

We can see him perform in Divergent. He has the kind of charisma highly desired in Hollywood and his perfect physique recommends him both for action movies and romantic comedies. He is currently preparing for the following parts of the sci-fi, Insurgent and Allegiant, expected in 2015 and 2016.

Actors on the Rise

2. Jack Reynor

The lesser known equivalent, at least for now, for Theo James. Reynor appeared in an acclaimed 2012 Irish film, What Richard Did, and is likely to become a celebrity with the Transformers: Extermination. Rumors also preset him as a possibility for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Actors on the Rise

3. Kevin Hart

Many have said that Kevin Hart is a sort of Eddie Murphy and the unexpected smash action comedy Ride Along has propelled him in the forefront of black actors in Hollywood. We can also see him in the romantic comedy About Last Night and he is also preparing no less than six projects, including Ride Along 2.

Actors on the Rise

4. Dakota Johnson

We can see her in Need for Speed but the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey could turn her into a global star. Or it could destroy her career, but hopefully that will not be the case.

Actors on the Rise

5. Lupita Nyong’o

A year ago no one had heard of the beautiful black actress Oscar winner for 12 Years a Slave. Now she is high on the list of casting agencies and several major productions, including Star Wars: Episode VII who are fighting for her to have a role as small.

Actors on the Rise

6. Margot Robbie

She is the female lead in The Wolf of Wall Street and its success opened many doors in Hollywood. Meanwhile, she received an important role, that of Jane in the new adaptation of Tarzan with Alexander Skarsgård in the title role.

Actors on the Rise

7. Chris Pratt

He spent nearly a decade with appearances in series and a dozes of films, but now Pratt jumped straight into blockbusters group with his role in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, which will place him face to face with new species of dinosaurs.

Actors on the Rise

8. Jack Gleeson

You first saw him having a brief appearance in Batman Begins, but since then things have changed a lot for the Irish actor aged 21 years. Now he has an active role in the most adored series the moment and will certainly surprise you with new projects. I just hope his role as Joffrey Baratheon will not restrain him to negative roles.

Actors on the Rise

9. Miles Teller

He is also to see in Divergen, but Teller will be Mr. Fantastic from The Fantastic Four. He completely changed the genre in Two Night Stand, a romantic comedy about two young people who plan to spend only one night together, but are trapped, to their dissatisfaction, by a snowstorm.

10. Analeigh Tipton

Miles Teller’s partner in Two Night Stand was praised for her role in Crazy, Stupid, Love and is preparing no less than five films. She will be seen in Lucy, Luc Besson’s sci-fi with Scarlett Johansson in the role of prostitute who acquires superhuman powers.

11. Brenton Thwaites

Launched in the Australian series, Thwaites seized the role of Prince Phillip in Maleficent (will his kiss wake Princess Aurora?) and plays the main role in the fantasy The Giver, along with Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. He also plays an important role in the Gods of Egypt, expected in 2018. Until then, he may be seen in the independent sci-fi Signal, well-received at Sundance.

The next Will Smith? He appeared in the Chronicle, the unexpected independent sci-fi smash, and made sensations in the award-winning Fruitvale Station.
