10 Comedy Movies to Look Forward to in 2014

They don’t make comedies like they used to, but we have found ten comedy movies to look forward to in 2014.

1. Ride Along

Ride Along is an action comedy which stars Kevin Hart and Ice Cube as the main characters. The story is typical: a security guard named Ben played by Kevin Hart wants to convince the policeman James played by Cube that he deserves to marry his sister. The two go together on patrol, but the continuous discussions about anything which Ben initiates and annoy James will inevitably lead to unpleasant situations. That is funny.

2. The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie is an animated film which tells the story of Emmet, a regular guy who by circumstances come to be called the “savior of the planet”. It is not a simple honorary title, but one as real as it could be, as Emmet gets involved in a journey along with Lego toys built with the purpose

3. Rio 2

The sequel to the film Rio from 2011, Rio 2 tells the story of a family of birds living in Rio de Janeiro. One of the parents decides, however, that the three children of the family must learn what life is like in the wild, so the whole family goes into the Amazon forest. Here, the five go through a series of funny events which have the effect of the kids not wanting to leave the wild.

4. Muppets Most Wanted

In Muppets Most Wanted, several dolls are part of a series of unexpected happenings around the world, which are more or less fun. The situation gets complicated, however, when dolls come to be involved in an illegal business and need to save their lives. The film is a remake of the production from 2011, and one of the voices of dolls is provided by Salma Hayek.

5. Neighbors

We leave the realm of animation to learn about Neighbors, a comedy film which has the spotlight on the members of a student fraternity. They move across the street from the home of an ordinary young man who quickly becomes the victim of many pranks made by the head of brotherhood. Obviously, conflict brakes out between the two sides and this can only be fun.

6. 22 Jump Street

Two policemen are again the subject of a comedy and this time it’s about 22 Jump Street. Jenko and Schmidt are sent to infiltrate the network of drug traffickers from high school and here they come into contact with many teenagers. As they have already reached 30, the mission of the two policemen to act like teenagers is not an easy one and generates many rounds of laughter.

7. How to Train Your Dragon 2

The action from How to Train Your Dragon happens five years after the first film in the series and it centers on the conflict between the Vikings and the wild dragons living in a cave. The mission to bring peace back again must be completed by Vikings Hiccup and Toothless, who must fight with the mysterious head of the wild dragons.

8. Dumb and Dumber To

Probably the most anticipated comedy of the year is “Dumb and Dumber To”. The details about the sequel of the famous “Dumb and Dumber” from 1994 are few, but we know that Jim Carrie and Jeff Daniels will join forces again. This time, Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne embark on an adventure to find the lost child of one of them.

9. A Haunted House 2

After a car accident he is left without his possessed girlfriend Kisha, Malcolm (Wayans) meets and falls for Megan, the single mother of two. Malcolm moves to her home with his new family, but starts to notice strange paranormal events taking place around the house and the children. To further complicate things, the spirit of Kisha appears across the road and there is nothing worse than cheating on a former lover demon.

10. That Awkward Moment

The story of three friends who are each involved in romantic relationships and they are faced with that delicate moment – a moment which we have all been through – when they ask themselves: “So … where is this thing headed?”.
