Don’t be fooled by the beautiful colors of this fish. Its caudal spine is very venomous and should be handled with care. There are over 1,200 species of venomous fish in the waters and it’s believed that there are about 50,000 people injured by these dangerous fish every year. The good news is that the venom collected from these deadly sea creatures is useful for developing new medical drugs.
9. Barracudas
We’ve all seen movies with this dangerous fish. Barracudas are truly killing machines, with their long bodies and razor sharp teeth. They can reach speeds of over 40 km per hour and have been around for more than 50 million years.
8. The Yellow Sea Anemone
This strange creature may be mistaken for a beautiful sea flower but the yellow anemone is actually a very dangerous marine creature. It’s closely related to jellyfish and corals and has venomous tentacles that stab the victims, paralyzing them with a powerful neurotoxin. If you ever go swimming in the tropical reefs make sure you watch them from a distance.
7. The Moray Eeel
On our list of deadly sea creatures, the Moray eel is also one of the scariest. It lives in the waters of Kona, Hawaii and it possesses 2 sets of teeth: a normal jaw and a second set of teeth in the eel’s throat that actually comes out of its mouth to grab the prey. This helps the eel catch large fish without opening its mouth wide.

The needlefish usually lives near the surface of tropical waters. But they can jump out of the water and become very dangerous, acting like flying knives. People have been seriously injured by this fish’s sharp jaws, with night fishermen usually being at risk because the lights can attract the needlefish, making it jump out of the water.

Another scary-looking sea creature is the oyster toadfish. It has a very big head and a powerful large mouth that crushes the tough mollusk shells. Their favorite menu includes oysters, shrimp, crabs and fish. An interesting fact about this fish is that they guard their nests and watch over their young in the first weeks of their life.

This snail is one of the most toxic creatures on the planet. They harpoon their prey using their hollow teeth and then they kill it with a deadly dose of venom. They mostly eat mollusks and have been known to be cannibals, eating their own kind when there’s nothing else to eat.

The fire coral is a distant relative of anemones and jellyfish and they can deliver a very painful sting with its tentacles. The box jellyfish, also known as the sea wasp, uses its sting to inject a highly toxic venom that is very painful and fatal to humans.
