What did your favorite Hollywood actors and actresses do before acting? Well, some of them were very successful models.
1. Angelina Jolie
Jolie worked as a model in Los Angeles, New York and London since she was 14 years old, after which she appeared in music videos. When she was 16 she started to act in the theatre. In 2014 we will see Jolie in Maleficent. The actress is also desired for the role of Cleopatra, but also that of Gertrude Bell in the film directed by Ridley Scott about the politician and adventurer considered the female equivalent of Lawrence of Arabia.
2. Rachel Weisz
Modeling: Rachel Weisz became a model at the tender age of 14, just before taking her first steps towards the theater.

4. Ashton Kutcher
Modeling: Known as a model for Calvin Klein, Kutcher won in 1998 the second place in the competition International Modelling and Talent Association, the first place being won by Josh Duhamel.
Acting: The series That ’70s Show gave him a charismatic aura and Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000) put it alongside Seann William Scott.
5. Uma Thurman
Modeling: Uma was already, at the age of 15, a model, appearing on the cover of Vogue UK.
Acting: Quentin Tarantino has mentioned her as his muse in the much appreciated film Pulp Fiction, where Thurman played in 1994.
6. Channing Tatum
Modeling: Before beginning a career as a model, Tatum was a stripper, appearing in music videos (Ricky Martin’s She Bangs) and commercials (Armani, Pepsi).
Acting: Surprisingly, not his debut in 2006, She’s the Man, propelled to fame. GI Joe: The Rise of the Cobra did that, making Channing Tatum a real brand.
7. Kim Basinger
Modeling: After the Junior Miss contest in which she participated at the age of 16, Basinger won a contract with Ford Modeling Agency. She became known for the Breck Shampoo commercial, taking acting lessons during her modeling career.
Acting: Numerous television films brought her a fame for escort roles, movies such as From Here to Eternity, but the role of Bond girl in Never Say Never Again, launched her in the world of cinema. Later, she appear in the thriller 9 1/2 Weeks and in Tim Burton’s Batman. Among the most compelling portraits appeared in Vanity Fair signed by photographer Herb Ritts was a nude from 1989 of Kim Basinger, who would win an Oscar with her role as Lynn Bracken in LA Confidential.
8. Jessica Lange
Modeling: In 1973, Jessica Lange worked as a model for Wilhelmina Models agency, meanwhile taking acting lessons.
Acting: Lange made a first cinematographic appearance in the 1976 remake of King Kong, but the reviews were disastrous. However, Lange was to wow critics with her excellent role in The Postman Always Rings Twice, later receiving an Oscar nomination for her roles in Frances and Tootsie. Recently, she appeared in two seasons of the show American Horror Story. In 2012 she received a Golden Globe for her performance.
9. Mark Wahlberg
Modeling: Under the nickname of Marky Mark, he was one of the most successful models for Calvin Klein, appearing in commercials alongside Kate Moss.
Acting: Returning to his real name, Wahlberg gets an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in The Departed and The Fighter, proving to be the man. He was part of the original formula New Kids On The Block.’
10. Milla Jovovich
Modeling: Milla started modeling since she was nine years old and already had a contract with Prima Modeling Agency. She was to appear on the covers of Vogue, Cosmo, Glamour and Seventeen.
Acting: Her early roles included Lilli Hargrave in Return to the Blue Lagoon and its sequel. Jovovich kicked it with her role as Alice in Resident Evil.
