Homeland is an American television series created by Howard Gordon and Alex Gans based on the Israeli series Hatufim developed by Gideon Raff.
The main character is Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) a CIA agent who came to believe that a Marine being held captive by Al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war was turned by the enemies against the United States and is now a threat.
