The smokey eye doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. It’s been around for some years now and it’s still popular! It’s perfect for a night out on the town, even a fancy event and it looks great on young and mature skin alike. But it can be quite tricky to achieve this look, because it takes some time to master the technique. Not to worry, you’re in luck! Today we will share with you 10 great tips you need to know in order to create the perfect smokey eye makeup. Before you start putting together your kit, take a look at some of the essential makeup brushes you need for any makeup look.
10. Prep the Eyelid
In order for the eye shadow to last you an entire evening, you will need to prep the eyelid. You can do that by using a primer such as the e.l.f. Essential Eyelid Primer. The eye shadow will last longer, it will not gather in the crease and you’ll look fabulous all night long. If you don’t want to invest in an eye primer, then simply swipe your eyelid with a clean and dry cotton pad, to make sure it’s not oily.
9. Never a Straight Line
No matter what you do, make sure you never leave a line on your eyelids. The smokey eye should be smoldering, blended and faded. It shouldn’t have any straight lines that aren’t blended into oblivion. Take a look in the mirror before you leave the house and make sure the eyes are right.
8. Highlighter
A bit of highlighter makes all the difference in the world. Take a small brush and simply swipe it on your powder highlighter. A smokey eye makeup cannot be made without the use of an amazing blending brush. It’s all in the brush to create this look! It’s all about the blending and the fading of colors. 4. Use Quality Products 
It’s try that even cheap products can create a great smokey eye, but it’s not going to last as much as it would if you use good quality products. Keep in mind that even it a Chanel palettes costs around $50, it is going to last you for at least a year if you use it extensively. If you don’t, it’s going to probably expire before you use it up.
3. Take a Step Back and Check
Check in the mirror as you go. Add a bit of color and take a step back and check it. Add a bit of highlighter and then check again. Constantly check yourself in the mirror, because once you go overboard, the turning back is not a pretty thing to do. You’d have to take all the makeup off, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.
